Heroes and Generals combine Real Time Strategy (Generals) with a First Person Shooter (Heroes) so the dynamics of the game are really amazing and there is something for every type of gamer. The Allied Airborne Army has ten activated Assault Teams in Heroes and Generals that you can view below. For more information on how the game is played, visit their game guide.
When an assault team is engaged in combat, a server is created that players can join and utilize the assault teams in a FPS environment. This can be viewed on the right hand side of the Campaign Map in the game. If you see any Allied Airborne Army units engage in a conflict, join us and help win the battle. We have AT (Assualt Teams) for all aspects of the game.
6th British Airborne 1st Canadian PIB
The British 6th Airborne 1st Canadian Paratroop Infantry Battalion is a paratrooper AT where soldiers parachute into combat from transport airplanes. It consist of 32 Airborne Soldiers and 8 Transport Planes. They can be deployed behind enemy lines and fight as light infantry. Once the paratroopers have been deployed they act as normal infantry until they have returned to an allied airbase. If Paratroopers are used to instigate an attack on an enemy battlefield they can attack the battlefield directly even if enemy unit placement otherwise dictates a Skirmish battle be fought.
RAF Eagle Squadron 133
Also an IL2 Cliffs of Dover unit for the Allied Airborne Army, the Eagle Squadron is a fighter squadron Assault Team for Heroes and Generals. Pilots operate fighter and fighter-bomber airplanes. They have a long reach and can be called in by commanders to strafe and bomb enemy positions and formations. The unit consist of 16 pilots and 16 aircraft.
XXX Corps is a fairly new addition to the Allied Airborne Army gaming community, however historically played a major roll in Operation Market Garden by providing the main Thrust for the operation. XXX Corps consist of Armor and Tank Destroyer Assault Teams. Armor can spawn with tanks and are mainly used to break through enemy lines and fight enemy armored units. Tank Destroyers are tanks that have been designed with focus on a hi-caliber cannon fired from defensive positions.
82nd Airborne 325th GIR
The 325th Glider infantry Regiment is the longest running unit in the Allied Airborne Army. It consist of a 75 man infantry Assault Team, and a 32 man anti-tank Assault Team. An anti-tank infantry team is a unit specialized in destroying enemy armor and vehicles. In addition to rifles and sub-machine guns they employ anti-tank weapons such as bazookas and mines. The infantry unit is of course, the backbone of army.
The 101st Airborne 501st, 502nd and 506th Parachute Infantry Regiments are parachute assault teams like that of the 1st Can Paras. They can be deployed behind enemy lines and fight as light infantry. 101st Airborne 327th GIR
The 101st Airborne 327th Glider Infantry Regiment is a Recon Assault Team. They consist of 16 men. They are small units used to scout ahead of the main force and provide intelligence to the Command groups. When a battle is ongoing some are used to provide sniper cover for the advancing forces. The Recon unit is able to move on enemy occupied battlefields.
