Summer is starting to wind and there are a lot of big changes in the air! We launched our new website which coincidentally happened at the same time Heroes and Generals released their Xylander Update. We added new members to our roster and promoted a lot more. In other games, Traction Wars is starting to look really interesting as they focus on WWII realism which is something right up our alley. With that said, we are really excited with what the future has in store for the Allied Airborne Army.
New AAA Website
Starting with our new website. It’s a complete upgrade that we’ve been quietly working on it for a while now. It’s fully responsive so it will confine to any device (mobile, pad, browser), forum included. Members will find it easier to help with news articles, uploading media, creating galleries, adding events, monitoring enlistment applications, adding new pages and general upkeep. Hell there’s even league/players/team system that we threw in for competitions and events if we ever go back down that road. If a game like Traction Wars goes public, it might be fun to do arrange tournaments and competitions. We plan to do a helpful guide for all the new features shortly to assist new and old users to all the functions of the site.
Heroes and Generals – Xylander Update
The Xylander update brings a lot of new features – The Soviets get the AVS-36 (and its’ bayonet) to help fight the Sturmgewehr 44 and M1/M2 carbines released in Walker, Town and Factory Map updates, XP-bonuses for War battles, credit earnings update and new “Battle Director“!
They adding a larger selection of camouflage uniforms to help you personalize how your heroes look in the game as well as they gone through the Town Map and Factory Map tweaked a lot of small details based on stats and player feedback. The AVS-36, the Sturmgewehr 44, the MP-40 and the M1917 Revolver can now be upgraded with new skins.
Heroes and Generals introduced a ‘Battle Director‘ feature that identifies which battles are fun and suitable to be played. The fun battles can be joined as usual through either the matchmaker or by manually picking a battle, and the battles that are not fun will be auto-resolved by the Battle Director.
Mobile Command on Android and iOS has been updated to support the newly added Xylander update.
Traction War – Road to OVERLORD
The philosophy behind the game design follows seven core design criteria which shape the design decisions of the game: Tactics, Teamwork, Realism, Historical, Beauty, Enjoyment and Balance.
OVERLORD, which is set in the immediate aftermath of D-Day, will be the first release of the game with the following chapters adding in new features, maps and periods of the war. This first release will be infantry-only and feature the British Armed Forces and the German Wehrmacht in June 1944.The most important part of any game is the gameplay. We have been careful not to be too ambitious in the scope of OVERLORD, so have chosen to restrict ourselves to four maps optimized for 32 players. Take a look at their video of Pegasus Bridge. If anyone is familiar with Pegasus Bridge, they will be impressed with how realistic the environment looks.
Promotions – Congratulations to all members that made promotion this month.
Awards & Recognition – Members going above and beyond deserve recognition!
The American Defense Service Medal is awarded to the following members for being a general thorn in the side of the Axis over the last several months. They have been the source of discouragement among many of players in the Axis community.

Before BlackViper34 passed away, his family set up the George Spiros Jr. Memorial Hockey Scholarship as a non profit organization designed to help young aspiring hockey players that can’t otherwise afford to play. We encourage you to donate as a way to help celebrate his life.
