Monthly Report

“No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country.”General George S. Patton, Jr

Happy New Year!

The Allied Airborne Army is going to be 13 years old this month as we put another year into the books. Happy New Year everyone and thank you for helping to make the Airborne an amazing place for organized gaming. This year has been up and down in both gaming and in our real lives. Tragically we had the passing of BlackViper34, our Commanding Officer leaving many of us at the Airborne with heavy hearts. For the better part of a decade, Viper was the back bone, the leader of this community and we will continue to celebrate him at the AAA. He will be proud to see how much we have grown in just the past year alone. The Allied Airborne Army, it’s Allies in the Deutsche US Division and the Devils Brigade are the back bone of the Allies in Heroes and Generals.

Even with the holidays upon us and many players enjoying time with their families, the Allies have managed to win wars, frustrate the Axis and more importantly – do it style. Take a moment and check out Schilli’s newest video! Given the fact H&G is in beta stage, the game can become frustrating – but all we need to do is remember that it’s just a game, enjoy it!

Combat Report

Winning too many wars means the Axis will complain… actually winning one war and many of the Axis players will spend their time complaining on the Heroes and Generals forums about how OP the Allies are. For the first time in the history of the game, there is actual balance. It’s not symmetrical balance, but it’s balanced. Some of the Axis equipment is better than the Allies, some of the Allies equipment is better than the Axis. Plain and simple.

The beginning of December started with War 171 which was won by the Axis and much of the wars went back and forth throughout the month of December. War 175 was a well coordinated war in which the Allies dominated a very determined Axis. The Axis had a great start and for a couple hours – held Edinburgh in the North before the AAA took it back in a rather non-epic battle of 5 vs 3. The Axis went one way, we went for the main control points and won the battle within 5 minutes. Together the Allies won war 175 just in time for the Holiday season. Since then, we have been on cruise-control.

War 177 broke out on Christmas day and we are currently still fighting it.

Before BlackViper34 passed away, his family set up the George Spiros Jr. Memorial Hockey Scholarship as a non profit organization designed to help young aspiring hockey players that can’t otherwise afford to play. We encourage you to donate as a way to help celebrate his life.
