“One day my grandson said to me, grandpa were you a hero in the war? And I said to him no I’m not a hero, but I have served in a company full of them.” — Maj. Dick Winters
July was anything but a calm month for the Airborne. Heroes and Generals went live on Steam, paratroopers were reintroduced to the general public and recruitment is at an all time high here at the Allied Airborne Army. The 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment has grown significantly over the last month as well as our French player base. Bienvenue à tous nos anciens et nouveaux joueurs français! On the down side of July, the Allies as a whole continue to struggle on the campaign map. H&G looks to be releasing the Rommel Build early this coming month which will change the RTS game play. In turn we hope this helps the Allies as it should minimize multi-accounting. In August we look to bridge more gaps between new Allied communities as well as build stronger relations with our brothers in the German US Division, Allied HQ and the Wojsko Polskie.
First we would like to thank all members that have donated to the Allied Airborne Army over the last several months!! You donations will go to keeping our Web Server and TeamSpeak Server alive and well! We are solid financially, so we encourage future donations go to the George Spiros Jr. Memorial Hockey Scholarship. What exactly is that? Well, continue reading!
It was with a heavy heart that we said good-bye to our Command Officer BlackViper34 back in June. This past month, his family had a celebration of his life and his wife wrote:
“For all the AAA members, please know that I pulled some of the comments you had sent to me and George’s brother, Jimmy, shared those with everyone present. It served as a lasting testament to the brotherhood that you all created. “
We will continue to celebrate Viper here at the AAA. One way we can do that is by letting everyone know that Viper and his family set up the George Spiros Jr. Memorial Hockey Scholarship as a non profit organization designed to help young aspiring hockey players that can’t otherwise afford to play and we encourage you to donate.
Continuing the brotherhood of the AAA – Please welcome the following Privates to our ranks.

It has been a struggle on the front lines this month for the Allies between bugged lines and overwhelming new players. As mentioned above, H&G opened its doors to Steam and the outcome has been thousands of new players running around and exploring the game when they aren’t becoming breakfast for veteran players. Auto-resolve is pretty much a thing of the past, battles start as soon as a towns is invaded. This does mean lots of battles for the Allied Airborne Army to command resulting in a lot of good pushes on the campaign map. However it’s against overwhelming numbers. For every gain, there is a loss somewhere else. The Allies have been putting up a good effort in the most current War (114). There is still always hope to turn it around. But, regardless of the Wars, the Allied Airborne Army has had a great month on the battlefield with majority of our members equipped with airborne characters as seen in the latest video of a skirmish in the Quesada build.
This coming months, the Triple A will concentrate on more tactical teamwork between members and more coordinated attacks with other Allied communities.
