March Monthly Report

“Whoever said the pen is mightier than the sword obviously never encountered automatic weapons.”
– Gen. Douglas MacArthur

The winds of change are upon us here at the Allied Airborne Army. We have been quiet on the surface but underneath the gears are grinding. It’s been a while since we published a Monthly Report and you might noticed some changes among the community. From the website to our gaming server, everything went through or is going through an upgrade. As we enter into April, we will continue our path of updating our community to give the Allied Airborne Army the best possibility at being a great place to game. We have recently rekindled our relationship with older Airborne Brothers. It’s been fun reminiscing and gaming with our brothers in arm and our future relationships with them looks bright. We also have to give a warm shout out to the fellas at Tactical Recon Clan for being a really great bunch of guys to game with. There has been a lot of fun nights this past month on their Battlefield Bad Company 2 Vietnam server. So, if this is your first time here… Welcome!! If you haven’t been here for a while… Welcome back! We have a lot coming in April so now is a great time to get involved!

We have open our doors and we are recruiting new and experienced gamers. We also want to welcome back old members that have been inactive for a while. Make sure you are registered with the website before sending in your recruitment application. If you are an old member of the community, just make your presence known on the forums – we will remember you and get you going again. You are all welcome to join us on our TeamSpeak server. You can find the information on the right side of the Mess Hall.

Games have been the big question this past month. Currently we are hosting a Battlefield Bad Company 2 Vietnam Hardcore server but almost all of our gamers are involved in other games such as Homefront and World of Tanks so at the moment, we are staying flexible with games. We are willing to get a server for any game that strikes our community’s interest. In the future, you can expect to see members checking out the new IL2 Cliffs of Dover, Battlefield 3 and Red Orchestra 2: Heroes Of Stalingrad. As a community we also enjoy playing titles that we have all enjoyed in the past such as the Medal of Honor series and the Call of Duty series. As we grow in ranks, we would like to eventually focus on a title and aim to involve ourselves at a competitive level. This could easily become your community so if there is a game title that you would like to get involved in, speak up and if there is a following, we will get a gaming server and begin tactical training for a league.

Probably the most noticeable change to the Allied Airborne Army has been the website. We are still working on a lot, but overall we have made progress with updating almost every aspect of the site. We added a new Vietnam theme, a radio with music that has represented us for nearly 10 years. The members profiles, roster, ranks, honors have all been updated. We have added a drop down menu for easier navigation as well as lightbox effects to make viewing more appealing. Our News Archive is up to date and our site is now protected from bots a spam. Enjoy the website and expect to see a lot more this coming month.

So what are you waiting for, get registered, sign up… get gaming!
