Rank Requirements

RANKS: The following ranks will be available to members of the Allied Airborne Army: Members rank in the Allied Airborne Army are broken down into three main catagories: Enlisted, Non-commissioned Officers and Officer.

 

ENLISTED: All members will be eligible for ENLISTED ranks based on length of time they have been a member and the quality of their participation with the Allied Airborne Army.

  1. Recruit: All persons who have submitted and application and are currently undergoing consideration for membership.
  2. Private: All enlisted persons upon formal acceptance into Allied Airborne Army
  3. Private First Class: Any enlisted person who has been in good standing for one month.
  4. Technician Fifth Grade, Corporal, Technician Fourth Grade: Any enlisted person in good standing who shows dedication, initiative and good attitude is eligible for T/5-T/4 Ranks. Time severed per rank is approximately, but may vary pending the Allied Airborne Army needs.

US and Commonwealth Enlisted Ranks

Enlisted: Any member who meets the minimum requirements is eligible for Enlisted Ranks.

NCO: Non-commissioned Officers will be chosen from among those members who assist the Officers by carrying out essential management duties and/or those who show leadership and initiative.

  1. Sergeant: Any NCO who acts as squad leader or assists a higher ranking NCO or officer in their duties is assigned the rank of Sergeant.
  2. Staff Sergeant: Senior NCO who demonstrates superior leadership skills can be assigned the rank of Staff Sergeant.
  3. Technical Sergeant: An NCO with server admin or website admin privileges or other technical skill useful to the group can be assigned a rank of Technical Sergeant.
  4. Master Sergeant: An NCO who is primarily responsible for organizing a league or ladder group (or other position requiring high degree of responsibility and organization) can be assigned a rank of Master Sergeant.
  5. First Sergeant: The Allied Airborne Army tries to have at least one First Sergeant at all times per combat regiment. The First Sergeant should be chosen as the most responsible and most trusted NCO. A First Sergeant should be someone worthy of becoming an officer.

US and British Commonwealth Non-commissioned Officer Ranks

Non Commissioned Officer: NCO ranks should be reserved for those members who have consistently contributed to the group and demonstrated leadership and/or have taken on responsibilities above and beyond those required of all members.

OFFICERS: Individuals who have demonstrated the highest level of responsibility, initiative, loyalty and the ability to uphold the principles of the Allied Airborne Army may be selected to become officers. Officers must accept responsibility for carrying those duties necessary for the maintenance, growth and well being of the Allied Airborne Army.

Commanding Officer
Rank: Major – Colonel
Duties:

  • Oversees general management of a Combat Regiment.
  • Selects & assigns a Regiment Executive Officer
  • Selects & assigns Staff Officers as needed
  • Approves or declines changes to Regimental Operations

Executive Officer
Rank: Captain – Lieutenant Colonel
Duties:

  • Supervises and coordinates the activities of the Staff Officers and Company commands.
  • Acts as Commanding Officer when the Commanding Officer is not available.
  • Supervises Regimental Communications.

Personnel Officer
Rank: Lieutenant or Captain
Duties:

  • Actively recruits new members.
  • Receives and processes incoming membership applications
  • Maintains and updates personnel records

Operations Officer
Rank: Lieutenant, Captain or Major
Duties:

  • Organizes and schedules competitive league matches and scrimmages
  • Maintains records of matches and performance of members who participate in those matches.
  • Submits recommendations for honors based on performance in matches & scrimmages

Communications Officer
Rank: Lieutenant or Captain
Duties:

  • Serves as Forum Administrator and/or VOIP administrator
  • Supervises Company Officers and NCOs with Forum and/or VOIP moderator authority.
  • Assists Executive Officer with Regimental Communications.

Logistics Officer
Rank: Lieutenant or Captain
Duties:

  • Sets up, maintains and acts as administrator for gamer servers, web servers and/or VOIP servers.
  • Assists staff members with technical issues
  • Assists Executive Officer with web development.
