I really thought I would be one of the saltiest people about the new flight stuff, but, I'm pretty happy all in all. I've adjusted quickly.

I'm not nearly as effective against ground targets, but, I kinda think we were OP vs them IMHO.

I can still have a good effect with practice and patience it will only get better.

I really love dogfighting again, it's reawoken that dogfight joy I used to experience.

I have 3 pilots now, all 3 have the recon plane and a P-38.
I also have 1 Soviet Pilot.

I felt it was too situational.

If a person's goal was to play nothing but staged (or guaranteed plane vs plane matches) then it is almost lucrative if they are willing to relearn the flying mechanics. However for a game that is trying to emphasize on teamwork this patch isn't helping. Why? Because the pilots are now contributing less to the team's overall achievements.

To play war as a pilot is a different story. You're less likely to have the planes counter you so your role really was (and still should be to a certain degree) to support the whole team and that means ground support. Deploying your own plane AT's? Forget it. Doing so in the old system was cancerous as players even then couldn't fly and would waste your planes. Now to do it you can watch them waste your planes flying 4x faster as they crash and getting 6x less score per match. It's not feesable.

If the goal was to make a pilot mini-game then they're doing that. They're making a separate game being played above the main game battlefield of H&G. There's content there, yes. But where i feel like they're failing the community is that the aircraft are now disassociated from the battles just are the anti-air gun players. I'm also just personally not a fan of how the new keybindings respond in sensitivity or the keys themselves. I haven't found a way to rebind them in a way to make them work to my liking yet.

I got my HE on the recon today. I can say now than its a useless plane at the moment. The HE are bad compare P-38 (didnt test if they nerf it too). It have nothing to do with this plane at the moment, it cant provide ground support, it cant penetrate light tanks and almost imposible to penetrate a simple vehicule. I dont know why they released that before the new spotting mechanics.

Side effect, Tier 2 planes are useless too now because we cant provide a good ground support with the APCR due of the insane speed who cant be controlled in alt mode.

In a mini-game or scenario mission, the new fly mechanics are really nice now. But if Reto want keep 18vs18 in a game, these players are so useless.

Pilot and Infatry should have separate slots. The game should be 18vs18 ground + 2-4 extra slots in the air.

Anyway, the game was fun with 12+ infantries unscoped gun who focus objectif. The game should have 14 infantries slots and remove scopes from them.
    14 infantries/Paras
    2 recons
    2 tanks (buff them)
    2-4 air slots

    All the squad leader auxiliairy slots should be in the same pool like the Assault teams.
    Players should can change from para to infantry if avaible

The game will be much more fun and everyone will stop to cry about useless pilot or tank just because it was a predefine slots. It will the much more appreciate.

I know they'd never do it, but I'd love to see it taken back a few steps.

3 squads like so

1 squad leader smg
1 lmg
1 specialist (AT, recon)
5 unscoped riflemen

3 support slots
pilot/ tanker/ recon

if paras are in, one infantry squad per para AT can be replaced with paras

21 people per battle

now that would be sexy

That would make a lot more sense and it should be done this way. This is basically how it's set up in the military for rifle teams.

Yeah, that's where I was getting the notion. (that and more fun balanced gameplay rather than a squad of 18 mg42 and stg44 rocking the house)

That would be soooo nice to see. Sadly in the direction this game is going, unfortunately I probably wont be around to see it :(
The game is really starting to lose me.

I'm extending my time by limiting my play. I don't play for hours and hours at a time anymore. I avoid super clan matches unless they are already filled with lots of pros on our side. I play two or three matches and call it a day, unless things are going really well and i'm still smiling. When the game starts feeling jobish, I take a break till the next day, or go fuck off in staged.

I forgot how much fun it is to shoot someone 500+ meters a way and have them call you out for hacking after the match :)
